One of our volunteers for the Social Supermarket spotted a Facebook post from a local company (Natural Health 4 Life); they had a bulk of glace pineapple that had crystalised due to heat changes. They could no longer sell them however they were still perfectly edible and delicious. Our volunteers have taken some home and enjoyed making some delicious pineapple upside down cake with them.
If you are a local business and find that you have stock that you can no longer sell, whether it be out of best before, end of line or slightly damaged we would love to hear from you. We will ensure that this food does not get wasted and helps to support our community. Simply email rachel@bebuckfastleigh.co.uk.
The Social Supermarket runs every Tuesday at Buckfastleigh Rangers Football and Social Club between 15:30-17:00 and for a suggested donation of £3.50 (cash only) you get at least 10 items.
Ps. don’t worry we still have some of this yummy pineapple left!
