Buckfastleigh has one of the most important sites for Greater Horseshoe Bats in all of Europe.
Every evening, just after sunset, the bats leave their roosts in the caves on Church Hill and fly out to hunt along the River Dart.
Currently, you can expect to see around 800 bats flying out. One of the greatest nature spectacles in the UK.
