It’s been an incredibly busy week for us at Be BFL HQ which has culminated in some fantastic news!
Our Be Wild project won a prize in the Campaign for National Parks, Park Protector Awards.
“RUNNER-UP: Be Buckfastleigh, a volunteer-led grassroots initiative to connect the local community with Dartmoor National Park throughout the pandemic with activity packs for children, bird-box building workshops for older people, socially-distanced wildlife walks and more – work that continues today.”
Thank you to all our amazing volunteers for making this happen, and to everyone in town for getting involved.
We’ve also been granted some funds from the Government’s, Holiday activities and food programme. This money will go towards our activity programme for this Easter holiday. We’ve not much time to pull it all together, so look out for the finer details coming soon.

Planning A Walk Around Town?
Fancy doing a little bit to make the place better? Well now you can borrow litter grabbers, a bag hoop and bin bag from The Living Room. Pick a set up when you set off, and drop them back when you’ve had enough. Simples.
Please read the safety notes and make sure you have a way of disposing of the litter you collect.
Don’t forget to share your photos, stories and videos on social media using

We’re delighted to tell you that Be Buckfastleigh will be taking over delivery of the fabulous Hello Summer programme on behalf of Buckfastleigh Town Council. We will work in partnership with Victoria Park and Participate arts to make free, fun & creative things to do during the school holidays and at other times of the year too. We’re looking forward to exciting times ahead!
We need your Feedback!
Every now and then we need to ask you lovely people for some help. In order to provide these great Hello Summer weekly activities and packs, we rely on funding, and funders require evidence of what we have been able to achieve and how it has been for all of you. If you could please take a couple of minutes to leave or send us a message about your experience of receiving the Lockdown Art packs over the last year we would be super grateful! Ask your kids for their opinion too. Have the packs been helpful? If so, how? Have you enjoyed them? What has been the best bit? We always love feedback! Hope to hear from you very soon.

Testimonials and Feedback
Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to give us some feedback. If you’ve not had a chance, please do take some time as it really makes a difference. As a registered CIC, our funding to support all of our activities and programmes is through fundraising. Part of the fundraising process is to evidence how this is making a difference to peoples lives and the wider community.
To capture this information we are looking for testimonials and recommendations from community members, who have participated in any of these event or activities and especially so over lockdown.
Do you have a testimonial or good news story which we could share? We’d love to hear it.
All of your feedback helps potential funders that we might approach in the future, see first hand the impact their funding, through our projects, will have on our community.
Send us a message with your good news stories or any suggestions about what projects you would like us to deliver.
